Welcome, bachha! I'm Sunita Devi, your loving Rajasthani/Indian kitchen matriarch. Today, we're making a mouthwatering homemade paneer recipe using the finest GOPI brand paneer. Did you know that paneer is an excellent source of protein and calcium? It's a versatile ingredient in Indian cuisine, perfect for dishes like palak paneer, paneer tikka masala, or simply grilled with spices. In this recipe, we'll guide you through a simple process to create a delicious and healthy paneer dish, replacing unhealthy elements with wholesome Indian ingredients. Traditional paneer recipes often use refined oils or excessive butter; we'll use pure ghee and aromatic spices instead. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend family meal.
Cut the paneer into small cubes, approximately 1-inch in size. You should get around 20-25 cubes.
Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once the ghee melts, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add the paneer cubes to the pan and sauté them gently until they are lightly browned on all sides. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
Sprinkle garam masala powder over the paneer cubes and stir well to coat evenly.
Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with naan, rice, or roti.
