1 cup khoa (or low-fat milk solids)
0.5 cup
1/2 cup natural sweetener (like jaggery or coconut sugar)
0.25 teaspoon
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
0.25 teaspoon
1/4 tsp saffron threads (optional)
0.5 teaspoon
1/2 tsp ghee or coconut oil
chopped nuts or dried fruits for garnish (optional)

Begin by heating the ghee or coconut oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.

Add the khoa and stir well to combine with the ghee or oil. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the khoa starts to brown slightly.

Add the natural sweetener and ground cardamom to the pan. Mix well to combine.

Continue cooking for another 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and forms a semi-soft dough.

Once the dough is ready, remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.

Shape the dough into small, round balls, about 1-inch in diameter. You should end up with around 8-10 peda.
